Shook Farm

Dan Shook’s farm is home to cattle and pork, which roam freely on lush pasture. The animals primarily forage on grasses for their diet, but they are also given supplemental grains that are grown on the property. The farm is only minutes from Rising Spring, a small farmer-owned slaughterhouse that ensures animals are respected for their entire lives. Most farmers must travel for hours with their animals to a slaughterhouse, but Dan gets to avoid this stressor and the proximity helps keep his beef stress-free until the end.
