  • 1 pound maple breakfast sausage, sweet Italian or salt and pepper sausage, removed from casings
  • 2 tablespoons flour
  • 1 1/2 cups half and half
  • salt and pepper to taste


Heat a skillet over medium heat. Crumble in sausage.

Cook until starting to brown, then turn heat to low to render out the fat.

Stir in the flour, constantly mixing while adding.

Slowly add in the half and half, whisking between additions. Continue to whisk until desired thickness of gravy is achieved.

Season to taste with salt and pepper.
