Philip and Annbritt Hodgins, frustrated with the dominance of factory farmed beef, started raising cattle for the sole purpose of providing better food for their 3 children, Finn, Maya and Anya. As their beef gained popularity with friends and family, the Hodgins decided to grow the herd and concentrate on raising top-quality Hereford genetics for the public. Today the Hodgins farm is approximately 800 acres with two separate cattle stations. They’ve also started raising lamb from Finn-Dorset crosses. The Hodgins are committed to helping build a sustainable local agricultural community by sourcing 100% of all hay and crops from local suppliers. They’re fortunate to have Dana Jalbert run the daily operations of the farm, with Dylan Morris as Dana’s right hand man and Alexis Bryce managing record keeping, which is critical to identifying and tracing all of their animals from birth to harvest. Oak Stone Farm is excited to be part of the Fleishers family and grow together.
